A Functional Patterns HBS practitioner is a movement specialist trained to identify and correct the root causes of posture and movement inefficiencies at the deepest level. They analyze how your body functions in key, real-life patterns—like standing, walking, running and throwing —and use targeted methods to improve efficiency and reduce pain. Their goal is to create long-term, measurable improvements in how you move and feel, not just temporary symptom relief.
Linda Lamouroux - Owner/HBS4 Practitioner
Linda owns and operates Functional Patterns Ottawa, one of only two licensed Functional Patterns (FP) facilities in Canada. Linda has been immersed in Functional Patterns for over eight years and has completed her Functional Patterns HBS4 Level Certification. She also holds her CanFit Pro Personal Trainer Certification and has completed additional training in trauma-informed approaches, Anatomy Trains, Pelvic Pro, Therapeutic Touch, and Medical Intuition.
“I’ve been physically active my entire adult life. My training journey has taken me from Nautilus machines in the 1980s to intense HIIT kettlebell training – often outdoors, with time spent exploring yoga and other movement modalities along the way. I also raced sailboats competitively for many years.
I was drawn to Functional Patterns after seeing a video by FP founder Naudi Aguilar on Facebook. I began with the 10-week online course, then fully committed by completing the in-person Human Foundations course and five HBS courses.
As I transitioned away from hard-core training—where injuries were starting to stack up—I discovered the profound, long-term changes that Functional Patterns could create. I’ve never returned to traditional training. Today, I’m innately stronger and move and function at a higher level than ever before
Personally, I take a more holistic approach to training than many, shaped by both my professional experience and intense life challenges that taught me how deeply trauma can settle in the body. What I’ve learned from working with people in this intimate way is to gently yet assertively find ways to break through the layers of protection our bodies and minds have built up to get to the heart of what has them tethered to their pain, and physical and emotional challenges.
My goal with every client is to share what I’ve learned to help clients release these patterns, restore function, move pain-free, and reach their highest potential with greater ease and resilience.
